Friendship Day is coming up (on July 30th) and we made something new for this special occasion.
We love all things vintage (as some may have noticed). It’s because old things only grow better and more precious with the passing of time.
We wanted to make something that symbolized what friendship is and friendship does.
Here they are … what are they, pray tell?
These look like books but they aren’t. They are book and notebook covers.
Let’s take a closer look…
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9
Friendship is a mix of two or more different personalities. Something different, when brought together can create something beautiful so long as each complements the other.
This handsewn keepsake is made of different materials (like chintz in varying patterns) and yet they come together in Victorian-inspired theme.
A friendship stitch in time is so fine. So many intricate handmade parts make up the whole. In our relationships, we build memories over the years. Each one forming a strong bond. Each friendship is a collage of times spent together.
The butterfly print signifies our evolution and transformation into better people when we have friends. No man is an island and we were made to live and love people.
We have favorite pastimes and places. We talk about the things we have in common. We share our thoughts with one another.
Again and again we go back to our old friends. Just like this reusable cover for a book, notebook or bible, we let our friends “cover” for us when we are in need.
Friends make ordinary days more special. They add laughter, music and fun to something that would otherwise have no color.
This book cover adds such a wonder to your reading. Inside are garters to secure the pages. It’s made of cloth, lace and dainty components.
“A friend loves at all times…” Proverbs 17:17
